Apple Watches get an update which is called watchOS 4.

The first one shown was Siri Intelligence. The face automatically displays all the info that's most pertinent to you using machine learning, so it can adjust to your usage patterns and settings to provide the most applicable info depending on the time of day. Just tap the NFC tag to connect your watch with the gym equipment, meaning you'll need to find a gym that supports the tech first. Apple at the event also showcased the all-new Apple Watch dock which will now be vertical. Its apps have been updated, and the device has now been made compatible with the wireless AirPods. Updates to the Activity app reflect that usage. Fitness maniacs will now be able to track HIIT (High-intensity interval training) as they please.

For instance, a new Siri watch face aims to predict information you'll need throughout your day. Image credit: Apple Newsroom. Certain sports and activities are also getting love - pool swimming tracking, for example, is greatly improved and will let you lap by simply tapping the edge of the pool. An upgrade was expected after a study was published showing that practically not a single consumer-grade fitness tracker can measure calorie burn rate accurately.

The activity tracking has updated as well with more functionality and the Workout app has a brand new UI.

The new software could bring some new, more elaborate watch faces, as well as the ability to set the watch face to always display the time.
