  • Historic first for India as Aditi Ashok Sharmila Nicollet tee up at LPGA Classic

Ariya Jutanugarn will replace Lydia Ko as the new No. 1 in the Rolex Women's World Rankings with Sunday's conclusion of the ShopRite Classic, according to LPGA projections. Sharmila Nicollet, of India, tees off on the fifth hole of the ShopRite LPGA Classic golf tournament Friday, June 2, 2017, in Galloway Township, N.J.

The 21-year-old won five LPGA tournaments last year.

"I feel good. I feel prepared", Creamer said. It was her first victory since last season's Reignwood LPGA Classic.

Creamer was happy to be tied for the lead after taking a penalty stroke at her final hole, before getting up-and-down to save par. "I couldn't get my wedges in close at all, so I spent a lot of time on the range afterwards just working on my wedge game".

Nordqvist carded an even par 71 and said she'd be aggressive on Sunday in seeking a third-straight title.

Kim, who said Saturday she loved coming to this event because of her relationship with Special Olympics New Jersey, needed only 79 putts on the week.

She had three birdies and one bogey in her two-under par effort for an 11-under par total of 202.

Rahal takes Detroit IndyCar race, Scott second
Rahal logged a 114.374mph lap in 1:13.9681 to earn the P1 Award and better Simon Pagenaud's mark from past year by 0.0698 seconds. Dixon takes a two-point lead in the championship standings over rival Helio Castroneves , who finished seventh in the race.

"I feel really pleased with how I played today", Kim said at her post-tournament press conference. "I always look for a higher level instead of just make a cut".

American Paula Creamer, who started the day tied for the lead with Kim, shot a 74 and wound up tied for seventh at 207 with Gabby Lopez of Mexico, who shot a 67; Moriya Jutanugarn from Thailand, who signed for a 72; and Americans Jaye Marie Green and Mo Martin, who shot 66 and 69, respectively.

"I didn't break anything, but I fall on the stairs and I bruised my tail bone".

"I want to be myself on the golf course and just keep having fun".

Kim, now a five-time victor on the LPGA, said she didn't know where she stood until the 54th hole. "I played solid. I hit some good putts that didn't go in and made some good putts that went in". Jutanugarn skipped the ShopRite event but will ascend to the top after So Yeon Ryu missed the cut for the first time in 64 events. "Was really tricky and challenge out there, but I gave my best".

Co-leader Kim, a four-times LPGA victor, is getting back to her best after an injury she said was incurred falling on stairs late a year ago. But for four holes, that's a long time.

Two-time defending champion Anna Nordqvist of Sweden also closed with a 69 to finish alone in second place at 204.
