  • S. Korean Military Fires at Unidentified Object Flying over inter Korean Border

Unidentified flying objects crossed the border from the North over Cheorwon, Gangwon, on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in the South Korean military firing dozens of warning shots at it.

The South Korean military did not say if the unidentified object was hit by the warning shots yesterday, but the object disappeared from military radar. It said South Korea was analysing whether a North Korean drone had crossed the border.

But Liu said China first wants to see the six sanctions resolutions against North Korea fully implemented.

"This is all about North Korean missiles and the threat that North Korean missiles pose to the Republic of Korea, and it's for the defense of the Republic of Korea and nothing else", Brooks said.

The North's state media said the successful launch of its Pukguksong-2 missile on Sunday - which in theory could fly more than 1,000 miles - had prompted the nation to decide to mass produce it in the future.

The North has proudly publicized its plans to develop a missile capable of striking the United States and has ignored calls to halt its weapons programs, even from China.

Mulally flew home to his wife in Seattle most weekends, and Fields constantly went back and forth to his family's home in Florida. Ford Motor Co. replaced Mark Fields as its CEO following a three-year tenure Monday. "He's not just a futurist".

He said Japan is talking to the U.S., South Korea, and close neighbors Russian Federation and China to make sure pressure on the North is continued "and even strengthened so that North Korea will change its policy".

In Jakarta, South Korea's special envoy Park Won-soon sought help from Indonesia in resolving the North Korean nuclear crisis as he met with Indonesia President Joko Widodo.

North Korea has flown drones over the border in the past and the incident came at a time of high tension around the heavily guarded border.

But North Korea's historic ally and main trade partner China said the priority was to push for diplomatic talks.

The Security Council adopted two sanctions resolutions previous year to ramp up pressure on Pyongyang and deny leader Kim Jong-Un the hard currency needed to fund his military programs. Pyongyang's actions are holding South Korea and neighboring countries at risk, and there is need to "take that risk away without taking his systems away", he said.

The Trump administration has been aggressively pressing China to rein in North Korea, warning that all options are on the table if Pyongyang persists with its weapons development. In January 2016, South Korea fired warning shots at a suspected drone which turned back.
