  • Social Security Administration releases most popular baby names list

The list of most popular baby names for 2016 is in.

Before Noah emerged as the top name for boys, parents favored another name from the Old Testament, Jacob, for the previous 14 years.

Emma and Noah are America's most popular baby names for the third year in a row, according to Social Security. Rounding out the top five are Olivia, Ava, Sophia, and Isabella for girls, and Liam, William, Mason, and James for boys.

Donald was the 488th most popular name for boys in 2016, its lowest rank since at least data collection began in 1900. Kylo Ren, a character introduced in the 2015 film "Star Wars: The Force Awakens", is (spoiler!) the troubled son of Princess Leia and Han Solo who leans toward the Dark Side of the Force to emulate his grandfather Darth Vader. For girls, the name Kehlani skyrocketed from 3,359th in 2015, to 872nd in 2016, likely thanks to the Grammy-nominated singer of the same name, as did the name Royalty. Only 621 boys were named Donald in 2016.

Outside the top 10, pop culture once again influenced baby name decisions, according to Forbes. "Caitlyn was already falling in popularity".

This is no longer necessary, as the files in their updated format will be available whenever the user clicks them. ISOs were offered for the PC build, which are actually the first images of a Fall Creators Update preview.

The drop comes a year after Caitlyn Jenner announced her new name and gender. "Now it is suddenly controversial". John is now listed at number 28 and Mary has dropped down to 127.

But a warm welcome is in order for the name Elijah, which broke into the list for the first time.

"Once parents see that a name is super popular, they are going to start avoiding it".

Also, parents are getting more creative in naming the little ones.
