Google Assistant, which this week started rolling out to Android phones with Marshmallow and Nougat, could one day be found on Apple's iPhone. It can do a host of activities for users; they can ask the Google Assistant to confirm calendar bookings, suggest a restaurant close by, even play games with the Assistant.

Google Assistant is moving beyond the Pixel smartphones, and from today it will roll out to non-Pixel devices, starting with the Nexus phones. Google has released a short video announcing the availability of the Google Assistant on non-Pixel devices. The assistant's growing repertoire of talents will soon be little more than a long-press of the home button away. The update brings animated emojis, a better GIF search as well as a shortcut to the Google Assistant.

We also get to see a kid covered in flour, with a narrator telling Assistant to remind them to buy more flour. For English-speaking Android users in the U.S, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia, the update should be arriving this week.

Google has also added animated emoji, a feature where you can select an emoji and use a version that moves. Previous year at the Google I/O, when the company announced about its upcoming AI-powered personal assistant, both Apple and Windows made significant changes to their respective personal assistants.
